And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I hauled lumber to L.A. for a couple of winters back in the late '70s. Being a county kid, the traffic and rude drivers made my head spin. When I'd get back home after a day and a half run I felt just like that guy above as I'd attempt to unwind. It would take a couple of hours before I'd feel 'normal' again.
If you made it down and back in a day, you're as bad as I was. From the minute I'd hit Castaic, all I wanted to do was get dumped and get back to Castaic again to some semblance of sanity. L.A. was nuts, even 45 years ago.
Almost as good as that Aussie gal from the Olympics…

ReplyDeleteGood luck in L.A., CW.
Traffic wasn't bad at all on the 405 until about Wilshire Blvd. Then, stop and go. But that's LA. It's LA, baby!!
