Late arrival home

  1. I imagine myself struggling with the deep snow in order to arrive at the lovely cabin. After arriving inside, I am drenched in sweat.

  2. Can remember winters like that in northern NH, just normal, its only snow, when its dry its easy to deal with, it all melts sooner than later, you and your friends find all sorts of crazy stuff to do because those winters where long, when you live there you get cold blooded and are pretty warm most of the time, having a good old 4WD truck is a great thing, a plow on it even better, hundreds of miles of excellent groomed trails for snowmobiling if your into it, skying, i liked bush camping, find a nice hollow or the lee side of a ridge or brook to set up camp, very peaceful, serenity, its very pleasant, its really great if its deer season, cause you can hunt ruffed grouse, spectacular eating, catch some nice winter brookies, rabbits and tree rats, bring a whole side of dry cured bacon, sack of potatoes carrots and onions, couple blocks of butter, make some fresh deer meat stew, bag of biscuit mix, makings for baked beans slow cooked in an iron dutch oven over a fire, its living large, couple bottles of home made wine and shine, cigars and pipes of course. Nothing like a northern cold clear NH night sky and a full moon to light up everything.
