  1. I think I paid $150 for a red mixer and it came with the grater and pasta heads. That was about 30 years ago.

  2. A used KitchenAid (from before they sold the name) is a better machine than the new one, but they both knead bread well.

  3. Mine doesn't tilt, it lifts. How old is that?

    1. It's a feature having to do with the size of the bowl.

  4. My three sisters and I each have one of these. I have the one that belonged to our mother.

  5. We've replaced multiple blenders and espresso makers, but the KitchenAid just keeps chugging along! It's a heavy sucker though, I have to do the lifting when it needs to be put up on the counter.

  6. I've had the same 4.5 qt -- the one shown -- for about 35 years and use it about once a week. It's a work horse. Costco has the 6.0 qt, bowl-lift model on sale for $100 off through November 17th. Just in time for Christmas gift giving.

  7. I have a green one that I bought 25 years ago. It's a beast of a workhorse mixer. Helps me make the most delicious toll house cookies ever.

  8. We have a metallic black one. Unfortunately the metal flake in the paint tends to make the machine look like its covered in dust!

  9. We call it the tractor. With the front pto and all the attachments you can get for it, it seems a fitting name.
