  3. My uncle had a 1930s Gold Cup hydroplane (Ethyl Ruth IV) into which he had shoehorned a huge Allison aircraft engine.

    Anytime he fired it up, it was like a volcano. He said it was normal.

    1) removing the aircleaner
    2) closing the hood forgetting you did so
    3) staring the car and watching the paint burn away
