And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
A friend of mine back in the 80's went to China to assist with a chemical plant construction and startup. Said that they didn't have enough cranes so a lot of stuff was block and tackle work. They'd have several thousand extra laborers outside the gate and when they needed to lift anything, it was a basic Chinese fire drill to get 200 to 300 Chinamen on a rope to start pulling. With the right setup, they'd lift a 100 tons worth of equipment. A sight to see.
I saw that sort of thing happen when they were building the fourth Ring Road in Beijing. No machines, just a sea of people with shovels. I asked the Public Security Bureau driver why that was. He said that people are free, machines cost money, fuel, a skilled operator and they break and need spare parts from time to time. It goes to mindset.
See what happens when you miss a payment?

DeleteA definite shovel ready job...
DeleteThe Amish in my area would have built the barn where they needed it in the first place.
ReplyDeleteIt would have been epic if a front/side guy tripped...
ReplyDeleteGigantic “puppy mill” for which the Amish are infamous.
