And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

The Lockheed AC-130 gunship - A heavily armed, long-endurance ground-attack variant of the C-130 Hercules transport fixed-wing aircraft
Only at night. They fly relatively low, and are vulnerable to ground fire. At least one got shot down in Iraq (?), because it lingered over a target until dawn.

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure that is an AC-130 gunship. There should be guns visible on the port side (our right) sticking out. Still, a great picture!
