And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I owned the pale yellow 1975 without the side trim. The engine was the 4 cyl. A V8 block as cast, but only milled on one side. Three speed trannie and 2wd only.
Dad had a green and cream one. Loud, and no A/C, which made travelling across the country in summer with 4 kids (how the hell did we all fit?) a marvelous adventure -- in crankiness.
The company I work for was the supplier of the rear seat for the Scout. I found this out one day looking through the archived drawing files. It's a shame that today's Jeeps are selling in the $40k range.
Any idea on location? We have a Pollard motors here in western Colorado and I'm not sure if they ever sold Binders..
ReplyDeleteIt's been a long time saw a Scout.
ReplyDeleteI'll take an earth tone. It won't show the dirt as bad.

ReplyDeleteMy parents bought one new, buckskin tan. Had the V8. Wish I had it now
ReplyDeleteIn 1982 I bought a 76 Scout with a 345 ci engine, put a 4 barrel carb and headers on it. Loved that rig!
