Mini-Victorian with views from atop Potrero Hill, asking a cool $998,750

Ok, it is cute.  Ok, it does have a great location and views.  But what about the earthquakes, and the neighbors?  And the swarming Regressive local politicians trying to tax every cent you have into their own pockets?  And the seething pooping typhus infected homeless staring in your front window?

You could easily miss 1056 Carolina Street as you are huffing and puffing your way to the top of Potrero Hill. The small structure is set well back from the street and situated between two larger homes. But behind the white picket fence and a few steps below street level, this turn-of-the-century charmer offers a surprising amount of space and style.

A previous owner has developed the lower level of the home into a private guest suite. It has its own entrance, kitchen, dining area and bedroom, as well as direct access to the large lower level deck and backyard.

There’s also a small deck directly off the upper level kitchen and breakfast area.

There are 1,350 square feet of living space spread fairly evenly over both levels.
If it goes for its asking price of just under $1 million, that would break down to $740 a square foot. But there’s little chance the home will sell at asking. Johnson called the market response to the home “phenomenally positive” and has set an offer date of Wednesday, February 6.

  1. They can have it. Yes, it's quaint, but I'm not homosexual. Why would I want to live in The City?

  2. Live in that place?

What about if you want to own a couple of M-4 carbines and 2 dozen 30 round mags?

The bribery amount in dollars to fulfill that dream will probably double the buying amount of the chateau.

  3. House is attractively staged, and good use of an ultrawide-angle lens, so credit to the realtor for that.

As for actually living there: enjoy your on-street parking.

  4. I bet that the lower level suite is for renting out or Air BnB to make the payments on that place!
