Desar, Apache scout with the 10th Cavalry. 1892

  1. I'm sure that he saw action. 1892 was about the time that the 10th Cavalry was moved north into Montana. It would be interesting to know what came of Desar. The area of the White Wolf Mine, and farther south was the subject of a lot of fighting. The Apache didn't give up easily.

    1. '92 saw plenty of cross border raids in AZ. An Apache would be next to useless in MT.

And scouts weren't assigned to regiments. They were hired locally.

  2. It takes an Apache to catch an Apache, they used to say in AZ.
