And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
That's why old school hot rods used solid axle setups. However, I've shattered a ring gear on a Mopar 8 & 3/4 positrac differential with a 440 magnum launch. I've seen u-joints fail catastrophically and drive shafts twist in two. All sorts of bad stuff can happen when you dump 400+ horsepower all at once.
when a clutch blows up on a manual transmission, the shrapnel can be pretty bad too - which is why smart car builders and drivers put a containment blanket around the bell housing.

DeleteThat is the weak Mercedes diff. There is a company that makes a larger and stronger version.
