And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
When I was still in kindergarten I would join my great granddad and walk down to his place every morning which was called the shed. It had just that stove in it, just so and my job was to build the fire and stoke it first thing. Then we would sit down and read books printed in 1914 and maybe swing on the trapeze under the skylight. He would make coffee using the water in the rain barrels off the front two corners of the shed and then smoke his pipe. It was just like a Russian novel but the dog didn't bark.
