And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Once I hit an oil slick, invisible on the asphalt, while I was making a turn in town & hardly moving. Bike went right out from underneath me, leaving me unhurt but facing a wall of traffic.
Luckily for me, I didn't get run over. My biggest problem was trying to pull the bike back up, when I had a hard time even standing on that slick surface! But every time I see a photo of a bike leaned over like this, I think of that oil slick- and what might have happened, if I'd been going fast.
Don't think I want to take that chance anymore; but it was sure fun when I was younger!
That's why there are single vehicle motorcycle fatalities.

Regardless of the danger, the photo does capture the essence of THRILL.
