And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I had one of those once. Old, battered, blushing worn off, barrel cut down. Bought it in a pawn shop. It was stamped "Property of Mexico City Police", in English, leading me to believe it was part of a special production order. Trigger was smooth as silk and it would lob them fat 45 bullets all day long. Finally traded it on something else, but would love to get another long barrel version some day.

ReplyDeleteBlueing, not blushing. Stupid auto correct.
DeleteJust as effective now as it was in 1917
ReplyDeleteMoney invested in one in 1917 would still be paying off today in manly fun.
DeleteI could even afford one, if the price in today's dollars was the same as it was in 1917!
DeleteThat pic shows a beautiful example. I'd love to have one like that!
