And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

A U.S. Air Force Martin B-57A Canberra, in flight over Chesapeake Bay Bridge, Maryland (USA), in 1953.
Appears to be a solid aircraft. I've read a little about its Vietnam service. Armed with 8-.50 cal. MGs & 7,000+ bomb load I bet it made a great ground support vehicle.
They saw combat missions over Vietnam and Laos.

ReplyDeleteI love the lines of the thing. Hate to see the business side of one, but for a pure aesthetics I like it a lot.
