The boy gets to fly in what I understand is a C-17 to tour some air base somewhere.

Right here he's passed me in the adventure category.  I can still claim spelunking, crawling through old mines from the '49er era, and tomato truck wrangling, but this looks better.

Meanwhile, dad is handling the weeding duties back home (sigh!).

  1. That looks bigger than any C-130 I've been in. Maybe the C-17? Looks very high tech inside. Awesome bird, in any event.

    1. Yeah, I'm at the identification level of "big plane." Whatever it is, looks like fun to me.

    2. You were right, he just facetimed with us and confirmed it was a C-17.

  2. ROTC - a great adventure as a prelude for an even greater one.

  3. I'll bet anything, even a donut, that they made the seats back aft just every bit as comfortable as the ones on C130s and C141s. Just sayin.

  6. That is a mostly empty "Can A WHOOP ASS".
    whoop ass
    \`whoop 'ass\ n.

A dangerous substance, usually found packaged inside cans. When released, can cause major damage to the person it is intended for, and is often used as a weapon of destruction. More often the user warns the recipiant of an imminent opening of a can, if the recipient does not act as desired by the opener.
"If you don't shut up i'm gonna open up a can of whoop ass!"

"If you go ahead with that plan, you're gonna see me open up a can of whoop ass on you!"
