And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
For some reason I thought that when played it would say something like "C. S. Swanson is the devil" or another thing equally creative. Imagine my disappointment when the song sounded more or less the same - but a bit better (I agree).
The first thing that stands out, to a singer, is that the reason it sounds fairly "normal" is Dolly Parton's immaculate vocal technique - perfectly unforced and in-tune even at 2/3 speed. That's something you don't run across every day.
Whatever you think about Dolly Parton, she is a real talent and a total professional. I saw a picture of her once taken when she was just starting her career, and wow, what a hottie she was!
