And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

M1 Garand chambered in 458 WIn Mag
I had a Ruger once in 458. It warn't no gun for babies. Rhinos and bears stand no chance against this.
Who was the idiot that thought that up? As a Garand owner and shooter one of the first things I learned about the almost 90 year old Garand is; NO HEAVY LOADS!! The fastest way to a bent op-rod , cracked bolt lug , or KB in a Garand is a hot loaded Cart. That Idea is right up there with a .470 Nitro AR-15.---Ray
I imagine that if "McCann Industries" wants to avoid a flock of lawsuits, they have re engineered everything to handle the load. It's probably a Garand, as we know it, in name only.

DeleteI'd be content with a vintage WW2 M-1 Garand in 30-06
