Did our Dear Leader just cry uncle? Or is it just more kabuki?
President Obama suddenly proposes a delay in the sequester.
My take is that if the One wants a delay, then first propose a budget as he is legally required to do. Further, the government will never willingly cut any significant program, so let the sequester happen, as it really is only a cut in future spending, not a real cut.
However, don't forget that every dollar the government doesn't spend is a dollar that comes off of GDP.
Would a serious effort to actually restore fiscal balance help our economy? Look to Wisconsin, Texas and lately Indiana, where similar efforts have in fact brought back fiscal sanity, and very quickly. The solutions are actually obvious, but so politically painful that normally politicians will do about anything to avoid them.
However we have to do it, let's do it.
