And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I used to have a Terry Tear Drop trailer that was 16ft. A little larger then this one when I was much younger. I am 60 and have a 19ft Jayco and I like my bed and toilet, hot water and propane furnace on those cold nights.
Here's a link showing my tear drop with some construction photos and info for building your own. I followed the plan from '47 Popular Mechanix. I built my own frame but it could easily be built onto a cheap trailer frame if you lack welding skills. https://shopteacherbob.blogspot.com/search?q=teardrop
Shop Teacher, do you think I could raise up the teardrop design to accommodate a kayak storage rack underneath ? I am guessing you'd raise up the camper 24"? What do you think?
That would be relatively easy to do but getting into the camper would then require a ladder or a set of steps. I'd guess it would also effect the fuel mileage a bit. I think I'd look into designing some type of roof rack. You'd have to unload the kayak to open the hatch but the trailer would still be at the normal height.
It's a minimalist thing.
ReplyDelete12.5k is a LOT for a tear drop.
