It's hump day beyotches!!! Downhill from here.
And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Someone calling themselves "Samwise Gamgee" over at Ace's had this comment, which made me laugh:
33Oh, I almost forgot:
UNINSTALLING OBAMA

Hahahahahahahahaha!!

Out in Dayton, Ohio, the Obama campaign came to town and held a rally. Afterwards, this was the mess that they left behind.
Really, it tells you something about these people when they have this little respect for their own park, and for the way they appear to others. Do we really want this type to lead us another four years?

Wow!
I just stumbled across these pictures, by Jo Teeuwisse, which combine modern photos with pictures taken during WWII in the same exact place. The contrast between the modern and the ghostly GI's tramping through as if in a dream, is poignant in the extreme.
Really awesome work.
Hat tip to My Daily Kona for this.

German POW's are marched away by GI's.
Flanked by American soldiers, a village in Normandy celebrates Bastille Day for the first time since the Nazi occupation. Freedom: it tastes so much sweeter when you have been deprived of it for so long.
There is a lot of talk about the "Obama Death Stare" that the President used at the debate. Admittedly, it was a better choice for him than the bored, guilty look he had in debate 1.
However, no Democrat can believe that such a mean and aggressive posture can help the vote with Independents.
No one, by the way, does a death stare like a Republican.
Romney's death stare ain't half bad either.
We will see how the Americans saw it over the next day or so.

Battleground state Colorado: Romney 50% ; Obama 46%
But who are these 46% who think the last four years of disaster warrents re election??

Bad news for Obama.
The latest Quinnipiac/CBS poll shows President Obama with a five point lead over Romney in the battleground state of Ohio.
How's that bad news for Obama?
Buried deep at CBS News is the affiliation breakdown: 35D/34I/26R.
Nothing like a D+9 tilt to ensure you will win the poll!

From Xbrad comes this video about a tough day for an AWACs pilot making an attempt to refuel in flight. All the action occurs in the first 45 seconds or so.
Simple facts are dangerous things.
Economist Edward Lazear has cut through all of Barack Obama's claims about "creating jobs" with one plain and inescapable fact -- "there hasn't been one day during the entire Obama presidency when as many Americans were working as on the day President Bush left office." Whatever number of jobs were created during the Obama administration, more have been lost.
