Holy Shiite!

Obama gets lifted off his feet by the pizza parlor owner.

Where is the secret service on this?  We can't have our president lifted and carried off willy nilly by just anyone.

I dunno what Slow Joe thinks he is doing with this chick, but those two biker dudes do not look at all pleased with his antics.

A sky brooding over the fall harvest.

Freaky cool. My pal's old Caterpillar tractor used to blow great smoke donuts when the pony motor was starting the diesel.

Looks like I got somewhere to hang out next February.

Finnish style cabin in Ontario, Canada

I want one.

A bit of gold mining action up in the Mother Lode country.  Watching this whets my appetite for mining.

This morning in the blue dawn skies of South America, the quarter Moon eclipsed the planet Jupiter. In Buenos Aires, amateur astronomer Mariano Ribas photographed the pair in broad daylight just 25 minutes before the occultation.

If you look closely at Jupiter in Mariano's picture, you can even faintly see the stripes of the giant planet!

"It was an incredible sight," says Ribas. "Today, after the sunrise, the Moon eclipsed Jupiter as seen from Argentina. It was the first time for us to see a lunar eclipse of the giant planet since 1998!"
Wow, this is good news to start the weekend off.

"  An Iranian pastor sentenced to death for his Christian beliefs was released from custody during a Saturday court proceeding, according to an international religious freedom organization."

Let's hope this is true, and the good pastor can now go back to the work that God has called him to do.

I'll bet he has impressed his Muslim jailers with his conviction and piety.

The exercise of the sort of freedoms we think nothing of here in the states are a potential death sentence in other places in the world.  Next time we hear that old multicultural lie, remember stuff like this.

It's been a tough week.   Next week will be tougher, so I'll be joining this guy this weekend.

I always enjoy visiting Lloyd Kahn's blog, and today there were some links there that had me strolling through some parts of the internet that I'd never been before.

Case in point is this link, to EatWild, and specifically small family farms and businesses that specialize in organic food products made without chemicals or drugs.

There are some great sites there that I will now have to buy from the next time I'm in the market for some beef, chicken or even goat.  What could be better than supporting the small, dedicated family farmer by buying the superior product they produce?
Former Clinton Treasury Secretary Bob Rubin fell into the Ritz-Carlton pool last night during a party, fully clad in a business suit.

Honestly, in a crowd of people, this is easier to do than you'd think, especially after a few stiff ones.

The question is, however, was he pushed?

Here's our swimmer in dryer times.
