Cabin in Nora, Sweden.

Tobacco Root Mountains, Montana

Proper transportation for the road above

As the Russians learned in WWII, the Finns are crazy wild forest men, and they drive like madmen too!

Hmm, interesting.  The same day I post about big wolves moving into new territory, and the potential threat they might pose, it turns out that not so far from home a mountain lion attacked some guy sleeping on the ground.

This fellow got away with only bites and scratches, but imagine if this had been a pack of ten or twelve wolves.  I imagine the result just might have been different.

Your dog poop humor post for today

                                                                 The grand finale!

Check out the size of this wolfie, who is the alpha male of a pack near Joseph, Oregon. The biologist there in the process of changing the tracking collar is 6 foot 2 inches, so you can judge the largeness of the big dog.

Oregon is the next step before they enter California, which has large areas where wolves would be able to live very well.  Whether the human population will tolerate these critters remains to be seen.

"En route to his execution in Auxerre, La Rochefoucauld made a break, leaping from the back of the truck carrying him to his doom, and dodging the bullets fired by his two guards. Sprinting through the empty streets, he found himself in front of the Gestapo’s headquarters, where a chauffeur was pacing near a limousine bearing the swastika flag. Spotting the key in the ignition, La Rochefoucauld jumped in and roared off, following the Route Nationale past the prison he had left an hour earlier."

Cabin porn.

This one supposedly on coast of the Isle of Man.

Gotta go down to Fresno today, so I'll be on the road and posting will be light.

In the meantime, I hope you get a charge out of this.

Here is the latest in the tomahawk chronicles, what the maker terms a "breaching ax."

Out of my league for price, but still a creative and very interesting take on the old standby.

Mondays, they're like that

The one and only Sam Kinison.  If this doesn't make you laugh, well.....

I stumbled out of bed bleary eyed and exhausted this morning after a long night without much sleep, due to one of the dogs deciding to barf up right in the middle of the night.  Naturally, Dad was the one that heard the commotion, got up, found the horror, and of course got to clean it up.  At two in the morning.

Anyway, shuffling into the kitchen this morning to try to find some coffee, the youngest daughter very cheerfully told me that today we would go for a hike, given the fine weather.  Not what Dad wanted to hear.

After being told no several times, the daughter decided I might be induced to go if she made me breakfast.   One omelette and a hot cup of Java later, I found myself loading the hiking gear into the car.

Below, Frog Lake, a favorite destination as it is a short and easy walk from the trail head, as we saw it.

Daughter was right, hiking on a Sunday afternoon at Carson Pass was fun.  Tonight, however, the dogs get to sleep outside.

Very good, calming video.   Go full screen and enjoy.

Here is the hardest "find the cat" I've ever done.

First of all, there is a cat in this picture.

He's orange.

He's looking right at you.

It took me a long time to find him, but once I did, it seemed obvious.

Good luck!
