And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
It is hard to delete the thinking we are taught, and open our brains to a different history ... even I struggle with it and I am from a different galaxy. But we should tinker with the idea of earlier, now unknown civilisations, we should imagine superior people, earthcast or from an offworld place, that built, moulded, cast, or just physically thought constructed such large figures. Seems like science fiction, for sure, but if you were forced to read the bible, as i was whilst younger, you will have read 'Jesus flew through the air in a vessel 33 cubits long, with flames issuing from behind' ... and raising dead people, and the old water onto wine thing. So quit your walking on water, if you can believe in the bible you can believe in spacemen seeding this planet, or various civilisations coming and going, each spanning thousands of years, and leaving few traces ... one of those traces being the sphinx and perhaps the pyramids. Cue Twilight Zone music.
