had a chance to get one of those back in the early 1990's for cheap. like under 2 grand. I passed on it as I thought what the hell would I ever use it for. kind of wished I had bought it for the last 25 years now. same deal with a M1 tommy gun for 4500 back then. should have bought it as well. not one of my better choices I made in life.
Got to try the one used in Robocop, an early Barrett with the round muzzle brake. Seemed like it weighed about 30-35lbs. We rested it on a step ladder, between the rungs to hold it up, a few shots at an orange Frisbee, about 250yrds out, it hit every time.
Guy bought it for $1500, nobody wanted a 'studio prop' gun. But, it came with 2 barrels, a plugged one, and a real one... and it turned out very accurate one too! Ammo rose from $1.50 to $2.50 a round then. No matter, even tough guys were done after 5-6 shots, the recoil was ... just different, it was an irresistible push, like being yanked backward 6-12 in, no matter how big & strong.
That ammo is not 50BMG. it looks like the Barrett round 416 round. Barrett claims the 416 is ballistically more efficient. The weapon looks basically the same bet 50 BMG and the 416 round.
Long shot ? Maybe back in the 1990s I would have a chance with a big boobed, long legged blonde female. Today, ha, it would be a very long shot, and would probably cost cash money
Has a scope by Barret too if memory serves. I think it is supposedly able to adjust windage and elevation for you based on the current weather and wind.
