And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

If you're ever in Lakeview Oregon and need to grab a bite, I can recommend...
Used to cook at a supper club in Lakeview back in 1981. Can't remember the name. About all I remember is the Tuesday Special was corned beef and cabbage. lol The other supper club catered to a younger crowd and had a dance floor. Lakeview was great town.
For a second, it reminds me of the Bear Wallow Cafe in Alpine, AZ. A must see and worth the drive for any red-blooded good American. Read the comments...
True, they don't like "certain types" at all...when my crew strolls in looking like we live there, open carrying and all, we get treated very nice-like.
I used to drive up to Lakeview for the annual hang glider fly-in. Great times. Some of the stories from when they brought the pipeline thru there were hilarious.
Yep

ReplyDeleteA bit different than Bear Wallow, but I bet the food is just as good! Alpine, beautiful little town. They HATE outsiders there! Do not go!

DeleteLakeview, where the citizens hate Portland just as much as the rest of Oregon hates Portland.
ReplyDeleteLakeview OR had a fabulous (and comical) outhouse museum along the main road. Hilarious!
