And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Some years back I was working as a Maint. Tech at a local community college, and there is an old WWII airfield nearby. They had a "fly in airshow", which I was unaware of. Working outside one afternoon, I hear a growling roar, and know that those are radial engines. Looking up I see a pair of B-25's! That and the realization of what was occurring made me sprint inside and up the stairs to get on top of the building, where I was treated to WWII aircraft flying by. I recall there being a flight of these Avengers, IIRC it was 3 or f5 of them. The NOISE these aircraft make, movies just don't do it justice!
Back around 2001 I was about 20 miles out approaching to land. Tower basically told me to go away for a bit for a flight of Mitchells was inbound. That flight turned out to be nearly fifty B-25s. They had flown in mass formation but now broke into two ship elements in trail to overfly the field and come back around for landing.
As it was, I flew loose form with the B-17 used for aerial photos.
There are two kinds of people. Those who drop everything to run outside at the first hint of a round engine. Then there are those dullards who lead drab lives.
