The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? First sensible thing you said in a long time. Chicago, bloody July 4, 2024 weekend with 109 people shot — 19 fatally still waiting for this weekend numbers. Should be less due to rain. can't get your weave or dreads wet. They will smell worse.
Since we're on the subject I recently bought one of the new Ruger Built Marlin 1894 Lever Action .44 magnums and it is really good build quality. I really like it.
16 inch barrel Rossi in .44 mag, got the same, looks like he has a Skinner's sight model 87 rear peep and picatinny rail. Sweet handling carbine, plugged near a dozen does in my corn so far, all inside100 ft, on a farmers kill tag, with 180 grain Buffalo Bore "deer grenades" they hit the dirt instantly. Bang bang out go the lights.
I was going to guess Winchester Trapper, but the Rossi it might be more. Very handy household defense firearm, especially in areas that discourage semi-automatics.
What made me guess Winchester was what appears to be a cross bolt safety hole just under the hammer under the rear sight. I don't know if Rossi have that or have ever used the cross bolt safety in that location.
As Anon 1:04 mentioned, the pictures does have some Africa veldt photo appearances. Africa does have some very small deer species that may be well suited for pistol carbine use. Then again, lion - leopard - Cape Buffalo are also present and having a pistol carbine in hand may not be wise.
Everyone should own at least one lever action rifle.

Pic has Africa vibes, and that's not the gun I'd want to use there, even as a back up.
