And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? Stupid waste of money, engineering , and training fuel. How many times in combat vs. airshow antics was the vertical feature used with the AV8 Harrier? I'll wait for your answer.

Allows recovery on almost any Navy deck, Island beach etc. Still stupid expensive for the capability, and would have been better to simply have greater quantity of conventional aircraft. USMC always looking for the unique when it comes to major weapons systems. AH-1Z, UH-1Y, CH53K, V22 etc No tanks, but vertical landing jets.
If you assume there is a future for more shipborne fighter aviation, it's this off LHAs, of which we have two and eight planned, or more carriers that we will never have.
