The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? I've read the wiki-article, and there was one remark about the (6) ice-breakers could only be used in the arctic seas not in the antarctic ones because the always need of cold seawater for cooling the reactors, and couldn't therefore travel through tropical temperature seawater on the way to the antarctic.
My thought immediately? Regulate the reactors down to the absolute minimum, and use one or two tugs or so....

Aside from ice-breaking, they were also used to test nuclear propulsion plants intended for Soviet submarines and warships.
