Illegal in many jurisdictions. Scary to the leftists but good protection for the norms.

  2. Is it my imagination, or has the US, on a whole, become a much more stabby place over this last year?

    1. There's a lot of stabby stabby in the news, but you can't tell much from the news. Stories are not covered, lightly covered, or over-covered based on the political message the news media want to send.

  3. Daggers have pretty much one job - cutting - stabbing tool. To many law enforcement officers, finding one of these on a person they stop creates suspicion of why the person is carrying such a tool. If your past has some episodes of anti-social behavior, you should be prepared to explain why you carry a tool like that.

  4. Hey! It identifies as a butter knife! Or, maybe it's a ceremonial SOG knife, you pledged to always carry with you?

Some of the comments, given the stabbing in the UK and here in Texas, are perfectly understandable. But passing laws to restrict the rights of honest, responsible people - and not enforcing the laws already on the books to stop criminals - that's where the real wrong & injustice lies.

    1. Freedom is dead we are ALL criminals now.

    2. Our right to keep and bear arms includes more than firearms. 'Arms' includes knives intended for use as weapons. Or intended as tools, since there isn't all that much difference.

    3. Stabbings in the UK? All stabbings in one year in the UK are less than all stabbings in one US small city. Over 5000 shot dead on your streets alone by the end of May, because of your gun and murderous culture.

  5. Just wondering if they know what "SOG" actually stood for. It's not what most people think it is.

  7. Forged me a "hunting sword" style blade, after getting it in my hands it suddenly came clear why "steel" is the weapon it is, a highly effective close in weapon unlike anything. While a good knife is indispensable, a sword is very transformative, its changed my entire idea self defense. Highly recommend a sword, the Japanese Samurai style and dimension swords are quite nice handling and carrying wise. They never run out of ammo, never jam, always ready. May the close combat sword make its comeback.

    1. And the best defense against a sword is ... a handgun.

    3. There's a sword expert who says most sword fights end in 10 seconds not those long fights in movies. The guy who makes the first blow wins.

  8. I agree with a commenter about law enforcement and ultimately court interpretation of such a knife. It may swing a jury against you. Better to be a camp, hunting, or assisted (non-tactical) pocket knife in the eyes of judge and jury. It will accomplish the same task however it may not look so cool and "tactical". Odds are, you will never need it. Personal choice of course. ( As a side note, don't engrave "Born to Kill" on your everday carry.)

  10. Ref: Mr Anon 4:22 am….there were lots of SOG” units back in the late 60s & 70s….from the MACV- SOG in Nam to the many “Studies and Observation Groups” in various US facilities around the world…. I used to play tennis with a CIA officer in Berlin whose ID said SOG, whereas mine said Data Processing Unit even though I was actually in a DIA cover MI unit…:))

  11. Using a knife for self defense is a very personal type of violence. You have to be close in order to slice or stab your attacker. I carry a smaller version of this on my morning walks.

  12. I have made several similar sized things out of one piece of walnut or oak. No cutting edge, but a point of bamboo. Along the non cutting edges I cut in several hook shaped indents. I carry it in case a BBQ breaks out and I have to spear a potato out of the coals.
