And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Clark Gable and his 1932 Packard Twin Six 905 Coupe Roadster.
When this specific, highly documented car formerly owned by Clark Gable crossed the auction block at the RM Sotheby's Amelia Island Event, it sold for a staggering $1,210,000.
Why is it so valuable? This vehicle is widely considered by collectors to be the "holy grail" of early 12-cylinder Packards.
Only 311 Twin Six models were built in 1932, and just a tiny fraction were configured in this highly desirable Coupe Roadster body style, making it incredibly rare even without the celebrity connection.

Around $7,000 in 1932 which is about $170,000 in today's dollars. While not insignificant (or cheap), I thought it would be even more.
