  2. My US Marine Vietnam tanker veteran group toured MCRD San Diego last September. We had noon chow in their so-called "Mess Hall." Besides several entrees to choose from, as well as sandwiches and hamburgers, there was a glass fronted freezer with small cups of ice cream and a box on the top with small wooden spoons. I had one and the spoon's flavor was far stronger than the bland white ice cream.

    2. Yes, but we had the wooden spoons decades ago not last September. Maybe things don't change as fast as we think.

  4. Same here. I always preferred the fudgesicles. Of course, i haven't had one since 1986.
