And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

In contrast to the following picture, hot and sandy
@ Don in Oregon it got to the point that the word "seemingly" had lost its meaning it got to the point that the words "endless taxes on everything" had lost its meaning we escaped to sunny, drought-ridden (most of the time) SW Floorida yes, with the occasional hurricane, but not with the low gray, drizzly sky that you can actually reach up and touch - day after day after day
We thrive like anyone else, anywhere else. We may need to be more maintenance-minded with our vehicles, and we may go through tires quicker, but we live man- we live. We play, we sit in wonder under starry skies, and enjoy amazing scenery and wildlife. We don't worry about shiny clean vehicles, but we have a lot of fun! We raise families, keep our shooting skills honed, grow food...yep. For starters.
miserable heat
ReplyDeletewhat does someone do in such a place?
One enjoys being out of the seemingly endless Oregon rain.

Strange comment when much of eastern Oregon looks similar to this, minus cactus
