  2. There's a story that NASA managers hated the Crew Dragon controls because the "emergency backup" wasn't a joystick and made them put one in - and now they're repeating the objections to the lunar lander that SpaceX is building (the Human Landing System - HLS).

    The argument that in times of real crisis, it's best to be as familiar as possible so that it's as reliable as possible, makes sense, but it also kind of says they don't trust the "best of the best" astronauts to learn a new system.
