  1. Wow ! My Dad (RIP) has a large 78 rpm classical LP collection, but the illustrated is at least twice as large.

  2. There is a bar in Naha, Japan that has about that many records.
If you buy a drink, you can request a song or two. If the owner likes your selection, he'll play it, otherwise he'll tell you to pick something else.

  4. Having had a moderate sized vinyl collection for decades (mostly some of my most favorite albums) and having decided to sell them all at a yard sale a few years ago, my thoughts on this monster collection is: Why?

    1. Yep. Why? You can listen to any song or album on the internet.

    2. Until the company decides it no longer needs you and cuts off (or raises) your subscription price until they feel enough has been paid. For Now ...

Your own personal collection to me makes sense. To a minimalist, probably not but that is how they choose to roll.

    3. Yep. I gradually replaced mine with CD's. Sure is a lot less bulky. But I agree that depending on internet services to give you access to music you already paid for is insane. Talk about critical dependency and supply chain issues.

  6. Those 3/4" boards are NOT holding up all them albums.
Anybody that's carried a few boxes of albums knows that.

    1. You can see some of the shelves are sagging which means they are resting on top of some of the records causing them to warp and ruining them. Not a good way to store records.

  9. Need to see the titles. If no good blues or jazz in that collection, they might as well be childrens songs.

I'm partail to my collection. It's not as vast, but a pair of McIntosh tube amls and complementary Bose 901s, i can sit and enjoy. The neighbors too.
