  1. A lot of these around. NONE call out whether they meet NAS807 or DIN 338 specs...so they don't. A good set will cost 500+. These are doubtless "M7" or "Cobalt" or whatever, but the real key to a good drill bit is the alloy, the heat treat, and the sharpening. Stick to Cleveland, PTD, etc if you want quality drills.

  3. I have such a set like this, probably 25+ years old. It was a middling grade, not Chinesium and not one of the $500 versions. Still using it, because that index box is really handy. Replaced many broken bits over the years, but it's always nice to have the decimal bits (the row on the lid) and the A-B-C bits too, the odd sizes. You can drill any size hole according to need.
