And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Computers. The modern fly-by-wire fighters are essentially on some degree of autopilot all of the time. The F-35 has thrust controlled roll, pitch and yaw when in hoover plus up and down.
Can't imaging that jet blast does a tarmac or carrier deck any good! Back in the day, F-4's, F-1's5 and F-16's departing USAF bases in Germany had a restricted departure angle for exactly that reason.
