    USAAF.
    Served in the Pacific landing special forces behind enemy lines
    at night.

  3. Canvas and 1 X 2s - a BB could pass through. I knew a (great) guy who made 4 (European) glider landings in WWII. 65 years later ( he passed at 102) I mentioned St. Mare Eglise and the trooper who had to play dead when his chute caught on a church spire there on D-Day. He matter of factly said, "Oh, yeah, I walked by that church the next morning". When history taps you on your shoulder....
