  5. Yeah, blue gill, nice fat one. Catch a dozen, fillet them, put the fillets in a blender, then make your favorite fish cakes with the chopped meat, very good recipe for crappy's too, add crab meat for extra yummyness.

  6. whenwe was kids, took to fishing for them with a .22, fast and easy, toss some chopped up worms out, they come to the bait fast, be ready, sit up high on a rock where you can look down without glare on the water, put a boolit right beside them, the shock wave knocks them out, have a net with a pole ready, sometimes you get 2 or 3 with one round if they are close together.

  7. Longer sunfish. Super fun to catch in the Meramec River on ultralight tackle. Lotta fight in a little fish. Filet some larger ones, they're tasty. Looks like a tropical fish in our spring fed rivers.

  8. Tasty bluegill are some of the best eating, if you get a nice slab side. The closely related shell cracker, also called a red ear bream, are also excellent.
