And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I still have the actual classic in green. A relic from at least the 1940s when my dad bought it new, it may well be older. I have a matching 2-burner stove as well. Well used, but still in fine fettle.
Everyone should have one and 5 gals of fuel, 6 pack of new silk mantles, an essential piece of kit. Still use the one from BoyScouts, type needs the generator needle swapped out occasionally, has the old cleaning lever. Got a small single mantle, its a back-back version, 1/4 size, sips fuel, precisely adjustable, use it to heat my tent in winter, run all night on barely a pint of fuel, on low.
It should be green. The light and heat output is tremendous. You can hear them from 50 yards. Greatest bug fryer ever made.

A single mantle red lantern is the true classic. Still works too.
