  1. Shudder thinking about how much revarishing all that woodwork will need.

    1. If you can afford it, then you can afford hiring the deck-apes to maintain it!

    2. Yes, but while the deck apes are busy as stripping down and revarnishing, the owner doesn't have use of the boat. My cocktail napkin estimate is just revarnishing that stern part alone would be 3 to 4 weeks.

    3. Obviously, this bespeaks having the means to afford the crew to do the work.

If you have to ask how much, you can't afford it.

And if 3-4 weeks' work is troublesome, you probably have a spare yacht on call.

This picture is in the dictionary under "conspicuous consumption".

  2. Is that contraption on the right a fishing chair... with the back rest folded back to make a tabletop? If it is a chair, it sure does not have very much padding.

    1. I think you're right. The slot in the seat is so the butt of the rod can be inserted into a socket and there is a foot board to brace yourself. Those tubes descending from the horizontal board are rod holders so you can have multiple lines in the water to increase your chances of a bite.

  4. Although we live in the SC "View-FERT", I had a friend that lived in NC's BOW-fort. Visited during the Marlin Tournament one year 25 years ago. Amazing boats.

Something like this requires a 4-5 man crew - Captain, First Mate & 2-3 Maintenance, plus temps to clean up when in port. Great if tour have the seafaring/fishing inclination & $$$$.
