  2. Sure is purty but the problem is you can't take it anywhere because of all the retards running loose infected with brain envy.

    1. True enough in a blue state's urban areas. Safe enough in the country in a red state I would think. That's a real beauty, that pick up.

    1. I hope it has the original straight six and the 3 on the tree.

      I hate "RestoMods"

  5. Some of the Restomods can be nicely done though. The original stovebolt 6's had babbit main bearings and splash lubrication, and 80-hp, but later versions have fully pressurized oil systems and many of them virtually bolt up to give double the horses. They look exactly the same in many cases. I've got a '49 3100 Advance Design that I've owned over 40 years, and am seriously considering Restomod with a later stovebolt 6, the original Muncie 4 speed (awesome Granny), but maybe dropping the torque tube and original 4.11 rear end. Why not? I want to be able to drive it without it screaming at me. Highway gears would make that happen.

People chopping up old cars and trucks to make some kind Boomer Rod bugs me some, too. There are so many now, and so many shops doing shows for Reality TV, that it's lost the glow of craftsmanship and the culture of rodding, and become more commercialized into a product. Too bad in a way; My first car was twice my age and I kept it original, and liked it better that way. But just this weekend, I passed a bunch of guys with deuce-bucket rods doing a run, maybe 6 or 8 of them, and it was really nice to see in that small Texas town.
