Cranky Sam

Just got back from visiting the oldest daughter in Missoula.  While there, we visited this place for drinks and snacks.  Liked the name, and decided to investigate.

Chips and queso was great, and they were able to make me a Shasta Gentleman that was just as good as I do for myself.

So, if you are ever in Missoula, which, is a clean college town seemingly full of families, check out this joint.  Didn't go there for dinner but if I had more time, I would.

  1. From Missoula, grew up there. Sad but its pretty woke now...all of my family has relocated to red states or more conservative towns. MSU is a much better school too.

    1. My guess is an Old Fashioned sweetened with leftover butter rum from the Mt Shasta Vet's Club and a rim encrusted with volcanic pumice.

    2. 2 oz rye, 1/2 Benedictine, 1/2 St. Elizabeth Spiced Dram ( which nobody seems to have, but they did). I do like the idea of the volcanic pumice rim, though!

    3. My take on a "Gentleman" is some southern pecan/praline liqueur for that 3rd part- Evangeline's, etc. The Gentleman is a versatile cocktail that really works!

    4. Thanks, CW. They even have the St. Elizabeth's here in the wilds of Texas in some liquor stores.

  3. “Woke”, partnered with DEI, is just the latest iteration of racism and segregation. Your definition of the term sound fantastic. However, in practice, it couldn’t be a bigger lie.
