      The human eye sees a strike every few seconds.

      Good night vision shows that the average thunderstorm is blasting out bolts non-stop in every direction at a machinegun-like rate, from everywhere within the storm, for minutes to hours.

      Seeing it firsthand will change your view of electrical storms, literally, and the desert is ideal to watch one several miles away.
