  1. I'd love the photo a bit more with a gun rack full of rifles on the back window.

  2. The only GM vehicle that didn't give me problems was a 94 Saturn. 79 GMC pickup traded while in warranty after new engine put in at 11k miles, wife's 82 Monte Shitlo with the first year of 305 port injection and computer on a 350, 84 Buick Sommerset could not keep a transmission for more than 11K miles, 05 GMC 3500 frame broke at 9 years old - company work truck. I am done with English made, Dodge/Jeep, and GM vehicles. Also, only own BMW while it is in warranty.

    1. My wife and I drove Saturn's starting in 91'. Between her and I we've probably had seven until 2007. I still have my 2004 Saturn ion 5 spd manual. Still starts and runs well with no oil consumption with about 31 mag.
Great cars, never had an issue with any of them.

    2. I have a 2002 6 cylinder Silverado with over 300,000 miles on original everything. Just goes to show "Your mileage may vary."

    3. Sounds more like the bad driving than bad engineering.

    4. 79 GMC pickup had the 350 diesel. Two sets of heads in the first 10k and it sucked a valve at 11k destroying the block.
82 Monte Shitlo was the first year of the computer and sensors. Every 6 to 8 weeks a sensor would go out. The wife had an extended warranty where any repair was $25.
84 Buick Sommerset was also the wife's car. It had a 4.3L that used the same transmission as the 3.2L. The transmission could not handle the higher torque.
05 GMC 3500 was a company work truck and I was the primary driver. The frame rusted and when it was put on a lift to change the tires it snapped.
It is all bad engineering. Three of them were first or second year models. The 3500 had a section of the frame where the anti-rust treatment was missed from the factory. It was never driven in the snow, through water, or carried heavy loads. It was used for pulling a 5000 pound trailer on occasion and a 200 pound tool kit.

    1. Being normal does not mean being wealthy.

My wife and I have been married for 41 years and we consider ourselves normal, not wealthy.

Yes, she would sometimes sit like that in my truck, but mostly not, because it's not comfortable, especially with a stickshift.

    1. I had many "successful" wrestling matches on the bench seats of my father's car when I was in high school.

  6. Percy Sledge did me a lot of solids on the bench seat back in the day, when I was bringing it.
