And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
One day, want to set up a home foundry, sand cast my own aluminum engine cases heads and cylinders, probably use a Ducati transmission and crank, clutch and primary gearing, cause they are so reliable and their design is simple to use as donor components, and the tranny can be rotated around in any reasonable location without worry of lubrication long as the crank windage is allowed to bath it. Almost indestructible components if used. normally aspirated. (why reinvent everything right?) Might do a really big bore one lung, or a very over square short stroke big bore V Twin, strait down draft heads. Got the shortest stroke crank Ducati has made, because all the 2 valve air cooled engines used the same crank forging, its really beefy at the main, make a reliable 12,000 rpm 714cc engine.
True mechanical art...
ReplyDeleteI wonder how quick the last one with the reversed cylinder head was at the dragstrip.

Nice hand formed aluminum fuel tank on the Norton. Love the front reverse drag Triumph, somebody put a lot of work into that.

ReplyDeleteNumber two must be a Norton, that's a featherbed frame.
ReplyDeleteHave to watch your leg with that air intake on the Norton, twist the throttle and it'll suck the hide right off'n ya.
ReplyDeleteRode a 63 Tiger Tumpet chopper.Every thing with my feet was on the wrong side and the clutch was stiffer than my decker.
