And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
In the summer of 1968, my tank is sitting at the USMC 3rd Tank Battalion maintenance ramp at Dong Ha, Vietnam. All of a sudden, a US Army 7th Cav Huey Cobra lands in the field between our location and the 9th Motor T mess hall. We go wild. Not only have we not seen one of these choppers in the sky, now we see one up close and personal. What a thrill...!!!
Seen one in the BoyScouts, it was with a Huey and a jolly green giant, an F4 Phantom and a Sky Raider, got to go right up to all and check out the details never forget it, nothing cooler.
I do so love the old model Snakes. One of the most beautiful aircraft ever to fly. Maybe even THE most beautiful, depending on how badly you needed one......
