And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I've got an older version of one of these....with the stacked leather grip....that has been passed down from my late father-in-law. The handle is kinda messed up, with a couple of the leather plates missing, and the leather sheath is cracked and dry-rotted. One of these days...I swear I'm gonna get to it, really, I do....I'm going to restore it and pass it to one of our grandsons who carries his late great-grandfather's name. [Note to self: Get off your ass and get these things done for your grandkids. You're not getting any younger.]

ReplyDeleteHung a lot of drywall/sheetrock with an Estwing hammer 'bout half a century ago. I get muscle tremors just thinking about it.
ReplyDeleteGet yourself a hammer holster and put that on your belt. Nobody will bother you.
