    2. Looks like the gear shift to me also. I had Corvairs (the Chevey Porsche knock off) back in the 70s and theirs was similar.

  5. In the photo, exhaust from the top three headers goes into the exhaust pipe, and out. Also, exhaust from the bottom three headers goes into the exhaust pipe, and out. But then, some of the exhaust from one of the bottom headers is routed, and goes backward, towards the rear of the car, and into pipes that are brown in color. What is happening there?

    3. Yes- that’s a later air-cooled 911- the paper-wrapped ducting is routed from the heat exchanger plenum up to the distribution ducts in the rockers. I don’t think that shaft fwd is a drive shaft.
      Def tuned headers- bet it sound fantastic-
      Given the pipes’ center exit & fender flares, my bet is 993 GT3, which are 2WD.
