New state flag for NorCal and Southern Oregon combo - leave Portlandia and SoCal/Bay Area to stew in their progressive insanity?

  1. The first one kinda reminds me of the Rising Sun flag of Japan.

    1. Exactly what I thought, and having it rise, or set, over Mt. Fuji was the perfect touch. I see Bogsidebunny thought of that as well.

    2. Jap flag No Good, Swanson-san. I thought the same thing, people might mistake Shasta for Fuji. It's a good central motif though. Maybe a killer California sunset for backdrop?

  2. Both are bad flags. As per Uncle Skip above, the 1st is a Rising Sun flag and the 2nd steals from Wyoming's cowboy image. Republic of Jefferson can do better than this.

I do like the image of Mt Shasta in the top one, though.

    1. Haha! You cut me no slack there. My graphic design skills are lacking, but they're both better than the one that makes most bumper stickers here, which is two X's, like moonshine. What ever design that is proposed should be dynamic, though, hence the bucking bronco, the mountain, and the rising sun. The Japanese have no copyright, and neither does Colorado, but both have a good idea in the symbol. Maybe some industrial and/or agricultural symbolism would be appropriate. Make up your own proposal, Mr. Critic, and email it to me, and I'll post it up for you!

  3. I don't know....I'm a traditionalist. Really don't like the idea of more then 50 states....I don't know why just a visceral reaction. I don't even like the idea of territory's.
Can anyone give me a good discourse on adding more states?

    1. Steve,

Basically those of us in rural areas are tired of being told what to do by the libs in the cities. True in CA, OR, WA et al.

Libs hate the idea because it will guarantee two new conservative Senators per each new state, so the idea of combining the OR and CA Jeffersons is to make the idea more palatable.

There have been four state splits in the past.

The (Oregon) State of Jefferson lays this out pretty well: https://sojxx.org/

50 is a nice round number that's been in our minds our whole lives, but it's just a number. I agree with you re territories.

  4. Given that the current bumper stickers for Jefferson are 2 X's, then these represent a VAST IMPROVEMENT!
